Up to this point, STEP has been our original partner in this mission and the institution through which we’ve been operating in Haiti. CHC is pleased to announce that we’re now partnering with STEP financially by awarding the seminary a $100,000 recovery grant.

May 24-28: The CHC Pastors’ Retreat

May 24-28, Churches Helping Churches will hold a retreat for 200 Haitian pastors. We are inviting local pastors to participate, pastors from the Haitian diaspora to come and minister to their own countrymen, and pastors from CHC donor churches to come and serve the operations of the event.

Phase One of CHC’s Haiti Response

Some of the greatest stresses in Haiti right now are the shoulders of local church pastors. Not only were they victims themselves but they’ve been under the gun 24/7 for the last three months. They are carrying the weight of their wounded congregation while they themselves are limping. Thus, we believe the best way to rebuild the church in Haiti is to rebuild its pastors.
