May 24-28: The CHC Pastors’ Retreat

What: The Churches Helping Pastors Retreat

When: May 24-28, 2010

Where: STEP seminary, Port-au-Prince

Why: To renew, equip, and deploy Haitian pastors so they can rebuild and minister to the people in their churches and communities. This is part of Churches Helping Pastors, which is Phase 1 in our mission in Haiti.

Who:

• 200 Haitian pastors from the country. If you are a Haitian pastor and want to be ministered to in the wake of the earthquake, please come. This retreat is for you. You are responsible for your own travel to Port-au-Prince, but all expenses of the retreat will be covered. If you’d like to attend, send an email to Jacques Louis at jacfranc [at] hotmail [dot] com that includes 1) your name, 2) your church’s name, and 3) the region where your church is located.
• 10-15 pastors from the Haitian diaspora. If you are a Haitian pastor living abroad and want to minister to Haitian pastors who lived through the earthquake, please come. At this retreat, you will be leading small groups, so Creole must be your first language. A warning that this will be a taxing experience emotionally and physically. If you need financial assistance for traveling, we’ll consider it for the first 15 pastors, but spaces are filling up, so please email us soon. • 10 pastors from donor churches. If your church has supported CHC and you would like to support the operations of this retreat, we invite your senior or missions pastor to attend. Your main job will be to observe, pray, and help with any miscellaneous tasks, but you will not be teaching. Pastors are responsible for their travel to the Port-au-Prince airport. How: All pastors will lodge and eat at the STEP seminary. Sleeping arrangements will be cots in a tent. The food will be excellent, relative to Haitian standards. All expenses of the retreat itself will be covered.
